Roots music is not a single genre, but encompasses a

group of genres including blues, bluegrass, folk, traditional,

Cajun & Acadian, gospel, country and Native among others.

And music has deep roots in the Gaspesian community going back

to when Acadian and English settlers joined the native Mi'kmaq

people in our beautiful communities nestles between mountains

and sea. Racines-Roots Gaspésie celebrates the people and the music of the Gaspesian peninsula with a new music festival

which will take place annually at Duthie Point Festival Park in

New Richmond as well as occasional shows featuring

Gaspesian musicians and artisans as well as special guests.
